Further informations about this occupation opportunity kindly read the description below. Nemours is seeking an Ambulatory Care Coordinator to join our Administration, Surgery team in Delaware.

To keep pace with the changing health care environment and build a healthier future for our children, Nemours has embarked on a multi-phase expansion to create a children’s hospital like no other in the region. Upon completion in June 2014, the hospital will include private, family-centered, technologically advanced patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a new expanded Emergency Department.

Under direction of Nurse Manager, oversee daily operations of the outpatient care centers of the Department of Surgery at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children; provide direct! ion and support to department Medical Assistants and Patient Service Representatives on daily activities and operational issues; and develop personnel assignments to support the daily clinical activity of each patient location.

Provide daily oversight of the Department of Surgery outpatient care locations at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, including direction and support to Medical Assistant and Patient Service Representative associates. This will include care center preparation and monitoring of daily activity.

Ensure that daily ambulatory care processes are conducted and completed in a patient/family-oriented fashion (advocacy for patient). Ensure that cross-trained staff can fill necessary roles so as to achieve efficient and coordinated operations. Direct and re-direct resources to meet patient/care center needs.

Evaluate care center work processes and capability of staff to complete work process with a goal of maximizing productiv! ity and ensuring maximum utilization of available resources.

W! ork collaboratively with Department of Surgery managers and leaders to ensure that the highest level of service is offered to patients and families at all times.

Collaborate with the Associate Administrator of Revenue Cycle and Patient Access to ensure adherence to standard business practices and policies and to ensure that all personnel are aware of service and performance objectives; provide assistance and support in achievement of objectives.

Perform responsibilities of Medical Assistant or Patient Service Representative role as needed. Ensure knowledge of registration (check-in/check-out), appointment scheduling, insurance verification/authorization processes, payment collection, charge posting, daily cash reconciliation and bank deposits is required.

Provide verbal and written operational reports to Nurse Manager and Associate Practice Administrator.

Participate in the recruitment and training of associates; maximize the development ! of associates via orientation, training programs and work experiences. Provide necessary training and education to ensure consistency of performance in all clinical areas.

Communicate standard business practices, policies and operating procedures to outpatient care center staff, providing education and training as needed.

Promote customer service standards and expectations in the Department of Surgery; undertake methodologies to measure, assess and improve customer satisfaction; investigate customer complaints and respond appropriately.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

CPR.

Minimum 3 years job related experience.

Experience in healthcare required, ambulatory care preferable.
