The following are the functions essential to performing this job: !
1. Established and sustained history of well-defined and active engagement in funded scholarship in allied and public health-linked to movement science and/or health promotion.
2. Demonstrated evidence of collaborative leadership.
3. Strong commitments to the application and translation of research.
4. Evidence of successful undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring.
5. Record of successful professional service.
6. Evidence of significant leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
7. An appreciation for broad intellectual inquiry and methods.
8. A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
9. A proven record of effectiveness in strategic planning and program administration and assessment of nursing or health related programs is preferred.
10. Experience with first generation college students is preferred.
Other Functions
Individuals in this job may be assigned other tasks on a! rotating or as-needed basis.
Qualification Standards
1. Education: An earned doctorate in human development and/or movement science or in a public health discipline with a focus on health promotion/communication, or a related field is required.
2. The candidate will have the academic background and expertise to meet expectations of an Associate Professor in the College of Education, Health and Public Policy. Evidence of the ability to form effective collaborative relationships with peers is required.
3. An appreciation of shared governance and evidence of strong abilities to work effectively and collaboratively with University administration, faculty, students, and clinical personnel are required.
4. Strong oral and written communication skills are required; excellent interpersonal skills are required.
5. An understanding of contemporary issues in health education is required.
