Nemours is seeking a Registered Nurse - Med Surg Respiratory, rotating shifts: 7pm-7am/3pm-11pm , to join our team in Dela! ware. This position is 60 hours every two weeks with weekend and holiday rotation.

To keep pace with the changing health care environment and build a healt! hier future for our children, Nemours has embarked on a multi-! phase expansion to create a children's hospital like no other in the region. Upon completion in June 2014, the hospital will include private patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a new expanded Emergency Department.
Be part of an 18-bed unit that typically cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to 18 years. This is a general, specialty and sub-specialty medical unit with a high population of patients requiring respiratory or gastrointestinal management. Each bedside is equipped with oxygen, compressed air and suction capabilities.
Patient care unit goals are to provide high-quality, cost-effective, family-centered care. Primary, collaborative nursing care is used as the service delivery model. Patient and family care needs are assessed, interventions provided and outcomes evaluated based upon written departmental policies and procedures, as well as multidisciplinary standards of care and practice.
Orientation is individual! ized to the new employee based on previous experiences and learning needs. The orientee is assigned to a pair of preceptors who work as a team to provide a support structure as the orientee learns. The team meets weekly with the Clinical Nurse Educator and management team to identify progress and goals, as well as opportunities for improvement. The use of two preceptors also provides the orientee with a variety of nursing styles to learn from as he/she builds skills and confidence, as well as helping to prevent burnout in the preceptors. During the orientation process, the orientee is also provided with observational opportunities in the GI lab for procedures, the outpatient lab and Emergency department for phlebotomy and IV insertion opportunities, and other clinical areas as needed to provide a well-rounded experience.
Requirements
You must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
Nursing experience required; pediatric ex! perience is preferred.
You must have or be eligible for a Dela! ware State Nursing license (or a compact license).
Bilingual preferred.
Active BLS required.
