General Description:
Christiana Care is seeking an experienced ICU nu! rse to work the Weekend Incentive Program in the virtual ICU.

Requirements: ADN required, BSN preferred. ACLS required. Qualified applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of recent ICU experience.

The eCare Central RN is a member of a collaborative care team who is responsible for providing tele-nursing care to a diverse population of critically ill adults across multiple ICU’s at various hospitals. The following features govern the role of the eCare Central staff RN:

• Patient advocacy
• Proactive, continuous monitoring
• Prevention
• Evidence-based care
• Telecommunication
• Clinical decision support
• Humane, compassionate ethical care

The eCare program is designed to help reduce patient complications and improve outcomes in the ICU while enhancing the work environment for health care providers. Through the use of tele-ICU technology, an intensivist-led care team is continuously m! onitoring, assessing and, when needed, intervening to help sup! port on-site caregivers.

Sophisticated software closely monitors patients for evolving trends and abnormalities fostering proactive care. Information technology tools are used to flag problems, improve ICU workflow and track performance.

eCare supplements on-site ICU staff with experienced critical care physicians and nurses. Remote critical care nurses monitor patients 24 hours a day. On-site physicians choose a category of care for their ICU patients â€" from category I, which monitors patients 24/7 and involves the eCare physicians for orders only in emergency or life-threatening situations, to category III, which monitors patients 24/7 and carries out a physician directed plan of care, including appropriate orders to direct care providers. Experienced physicians are available to review CXR’s, EKG’s, lab data and other items that become available during off hours including weekends and holidays. eCare also assists in the education of residents, nurs! es and others while maintaining patient safety.
