Nemours is seeking an NHI Associate Analyst to support the Pharmacy area in the use of the Epic (Willow) application. Upon completion in June 2014, the hospital will include private, family-centered, technologically advanced patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and a new expanded Emergency Department.

Job Description

This position is an intermediate level analyst position responsible for acquiring knowledge of EPIC Willow modules clinical software, working independently in completing project task and executing the following task as part of a clinical systems implementation: builds, and maintains Epic Willow components, and decision support for appropriate medication ordering and documentation, testing, documentation of workflows and other project information, implementation support, and maintenance of Epic clinical system software. Support safety systems including interaction checking with medications, foods and allergies. Provide advanced medication systems analysis! with the use of informatics and consulting skills to support clinical functions related to medication use, ordering workflows, and pharmacy process throughout the Nemours enterprise. In addition this position requires the ability to independently interact with physicians, clinical staff, pharmacists and/ or business operations leadership; demonstrate critical thinking and follow through when developing solutions to identified issues.

Successfully achieve Epic certification in primary application (Willow).

Demonstrates the ability to collect workflow and other pertinent information from clients.

Develop current and future state workflows of clinical practices in Visio.

Populate designated databases during the system build.

Troubleshoot problems or questions from users.

Prioritize and implement changes requested for the system.

Thoroughly review and test each new release and communicate changes to Epic before use! rs are permitted to access the new release.

Apply in depth sys! tem understanding to current issues and design challenges in order to develop alternative solutions with pro and con analysis.

Demonstrates professional behavior when interacting with clients and coworkers.

Demonstrate ability to understand not only tasks assigned but to anticipate ongoing work and take ownership of entire process.

Coordinate and present changes, utilizing the Nemours Epic Change Control process.

Knowledge of healthcare operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of information system applications in the practicing healthcare environment.

Thorough understanding of hospital inpatient, clinic operations, and /or financial software along with understanding of the technical environment of product lines for which they are responsible.

Self motivated, self-directed and independent thinking as well as an effective team player.

Works well to meet expected dea! dlines.

Job Requirements

Minimum Associates Degree (preferably working towards Bachelors degree) required.

One to three' years previous experience with Epic clinical system software or other clinical systems required.

One to two years' experience in a health care environment required.

Previous Epic Experience and/or Epic Willow certification preferred.

Experience in a pediatric hospital pharmacy setup preferred.

A Pharmacy technician or Nursing background preferred.

Good analytical skills required.

Experience working on medium to large sized systems projects in a technology-driven environment.

Experience working independently and demonstrated accountability for groups of tasks or processes

Pager duty for after hours which includes night, weekends and holidays required.

Proficient in MSOffice Tools (Word, Excel and Access).
