CONTEXT OF THE JOB:
Under the general supervision of the Clinical Coordinator, the Administrative Assistant supports faculty coordinating clinical program concentrations and faculty teaching clinical courses. The faculty support includes maintaining accurate files and handling the logistics for the negotiation of clinical contracts with a host of health care agencies throughout Delaware, the surrounding tri-state region, and in the United States. The Administrative Assistant of Clinical Programs will focus the majority of time and effort on tracking of clinical contracts, monitoring student clinical mandatory requirements for compliance.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate contracts and letters of agreement with clinical and affiliating agencies and individuals in private practice for all Clinical Programs.

Assist in the recruitment of new clinical practice sites for the Nursing Program as well as maintain existing concentrations as identified by the Clinical! Coordinator.

Maintain a computerized database (Typho! n System) of all clinical faculty/students including Advanced Practice clinical preceptors and update on a weekly and ongoing basis.

Handle logistics as it relates to the facilitation of outside contracts, business agreements, liability certificates and other documents as requested by agencies in collaboration with the Clinical Coordinator and Risk Management office.

Review clinical contracts on a semiannual basis to ensure that they are current and to renew clinical contracts as indicated in collaboration with the Clinical Coordinator.

Monitor clinical mandatory requirements and ensure that all faculty and students are in compliance.

Provide information to faculty, students and department employees, as it relates to clinical compliance, policies and procedures.

Assist in conducting audits and reviews to ensure adherence to all policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

Provide appropriate notification to faculty inclu! ding documentation regarding student compliance with clinical course work being taught.

Assist with coordination of scheduling and confirmation of clinical preceptors.

Update, monitor, generate reports as requested, and archive data for graduate student records in the Typhon database and coordinate with Typhon database administrator.

Prepare and distribute Certificates of Appreciation to all Preceptors who mentored students during the semester.

Coordinate and maintain the Graduate program preceptor orientation online educational module.

Monitor on an annual basis the status of all adjunct faculty. Assist faculty on record in the renewal process for all adjunct faculty they sponsor.

Coordinate internal registration and organization of selected programs (teaching assistant program, etc.).

Assist with the support of external programs in their coordination and registration (CCHS Student Nurse Extern Program, agency ! recruitment, agency programs).

Perform other job-related dutie! s as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED and two to three years of experience. Associate's degree or equivalent college-level course work in business administration or related field preferred.

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of office practices and procedures; ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently; ability to analyze and interpret data, make independent decisions.

Familiarity with Delaware healthcare agencies preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills and initiative; strong organizational skills; ability to work independently;

Basic computer skills with proficiency in spreadsheet software, word processing, and internet search capability; experience with clinical software and databases preferred.

Knowledge of principles of adult education; knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues and approaches.

Ability to develop, plan and implement sho! rt-and long-range goals.

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Ability to plan, organize and implement programs and initiatives to ensure support of clinical compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
