Associate Director, Clinical Education

The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Delaware invites nominations and applications for the Associate Director of Clinical Education (DCE twelve month Academic year appointment). The DCE is responsible for all administrative aspects of the clinical education component of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. The DCE provides leadership to numerous clinical faculty and professionals during the daily management of clinical education. We seek a person with strong professional qualifications and clinical education skills, a commitment to professional and graduate education, as well as effe! ctive interpersonal skills for daily interactions with faculty! , administrators, clinicians and students. The candidate should have a Master's degree in education, health care, administration or related discipline, Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred, and five years of clinical teaching and/or clinical coordination experience and be eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in Delaware. The successful applicant will contribute to the Department's teaching efforts in the DPT Program. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Department of Physical Therapy (http://www.udel.edu/PT) is a thriving academic unit of 20 faculty and professionals, approximately 35 professional students per class pursuing a Doctor of Physical Therapy, 30 graduate students pursuing a Ph.D., in Biomechanics and Movement Science. The Department supports post-professional residency programs in Sport, Orthopedic, Neurologic, and Geriatric Physical Therapy and two outstanding, full-time fee-for-service clinics. The Department is ! part of the College of Health Sciences, which also includes the departments of Behavioral Health and Nutrition, Medical Technology, and Kinesiology and Applied Anatomy, and the School of Nursing. The college is poised to establish an exciting new comprehensive clinical research complex on a recently acquired 272-acre tract of university property (http://www.udel.edu/udaily/2010/nov/chrysler112309.html) that is slated for joint development as a research and technology campus by the university and our health science alliance partners http://www.delawarehsa.org/. All Physical Therapy faculty and staff will be relocated to this new campus, which should be ready for occupancy by January 2014.
