To keep pace with the changing health care environment and build a healthier future for our children, Nemours has embarked on a multi-phase expansion to create a children’s hospital ! like no other in the region. Upon completion in June 2014, the! hospital will include private patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a new expanded Emergency Department.

This position is responsible for functioning in accordance with objectives and established protocols and under the supervision of a physician, serving as a Registered Nurse in the Employee Health Department. Utilizes the nursing process to provide an employee health services system that ensures a safe and healthy workforce and that is maintained in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Completes pre-employment and pre-participation screenings. Evaluates laboratory results and provides appropriate notification to Associates/participants.

Maintains the medical surveillance program and associated medical records. Orders laboratory tests, x-ray studies and other diagnostic services, as necessary, in order to determine job performance capabilities and to rule out contagious diseases.

Examines and treats minor ! illnesses and injuries of Nemours for AIDHC Associates. Initiates blood/body fluid and Infectious Disease exposure protocols and continues follow-up care in accordance with Nemours policies. Examines workers' comp patients and refers claims to Leave Management for administration.

Prepares and maintains all related health service records in accordance with policies and procedures.

Participates in case management reviews and programs to coordinate the management of ill and injured workers.

Evaluates employees desiring to return to work who do not fall under FMLA guidelines (following written consent to return to work from their personal physicians), in order to determine any medical limitations. Coordinates employee return-to-work requirements with Leave Management.

Counsels Associates for such issues as substance abuse, psychosocial needs, wellness/health promotion concerns and other health or work-related concerns. Utilizes the Employee A! ssistance Program to assist Associates with dependencies and/or other s! tresses.

Ensures appropriate medical inventory levels by ordering and stocking supplies, medications and vaccines as necessary.

Develops, maintains and delivers wellness programs that provide education and continuing health improvement.

Delivers nursing services including, but not limited to, mass vaccinations, as needed for Florida Associates.

Performance Skills

Appropriately evaluate, treat or triage employees with injuries/illness.

Ability to maintain and administer confidential and sensitive information in an appropriate manner.

Must be able to multi-task and prioritize both duties and events in importance.

Attention to detail and information accuracy are critical.

Demonstrated sensitivity to applicant/employee circumstances and attitudes.

Works collaboratively with the Human Resource team.

Sets priorities; uses time and resources effectively.

Provides accurate, c! onsistent answers to employee requests.

Is knowledgeable regarding departmental processes and procedures and associated regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Education, Training and Experience

Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate's degree in Nursing or diploma from and accredited nursing program.

Two years experience in employee or occupational health preferred.

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and e-mail; ability to master internal HRIS and associated computer systems.

Licenses, Registrations or Certifications

Licensure to practice nursing in the state of Delaware.

COHN certification preferred.
