Job Description This position is accountable for the overall management of the Health and Well Being Program across all sites and the field in the U.S., including medical surveillance, health pr! omotion, medical treatment, and short-term disability/leave management of employees with work and non-work-related medical conditions. This individual will lead a team and manage our vendors to engage employees in adopting health behaviors and managing chronic conditions. The Director will work collaboratively with Benefits and other HR colleagues, as well as the Business, to identify opportunities through data analysis and recommendations aimed at reducing employee health risks and controlling medical costs for the organization. Accountabilities Team Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues in Benefits, HR, Finance, Legal and SHE to ensure that the execution of the wellness strategy is a reflection of the needs of AstraZeneca as a Great Place to Work.
- Consult on and interpret the various needs of the Business as it relates to wellness and AZ's healthcare strategy.
- Evaluate the impact of current and evolving business needs on health and w! ellness offerings in the US, and prioritize activities in coll! aboration with US Benefits and Finance to support the overall needs and priorities of the business.
- Influence HR, Finance, Procurement and other colleagues to ensure that available cost efficiencies, metrics, measurements and healthcare/benefits offerings are taken advantage of in order to maximize value.
- Consult with subject matter experts internally and externally as needed on health related issues.
- Ensure health and wellbeing strategy is aligned to Global Health & Wellbeing on an annual basis. Individual Accountabilities: Disability Management:
- Oversee/lead the delivery of case management under the Disability and Workers Compensation policies across all US sites and Field Sales.
- Collaborate with Legal, HR, as necessary in the performance of these tasks.
- Support implementation of STD/LTD and Leave Management with an outsourced provider.
- Ongoing management of Disability and Leaves vendor to improve costs associ! ated with disability management and improve productivity metrics. Share metrics regularly with stakeholders and leadership. Wellness Clinic Management:
- Oversee transition and implementation of onsite health clinic with vendor, clinic staff, fitness center, consultants and legal firms.
- Ensure that high quality, service-oriented patient care is delivered on a consistent basis in accordance with best practices model in all onsite clinics.
- Liaise with AstraZeneca physicians, nurses, managers, and external health organizations to coordinate clinical programs, corporate objectives, medical policies and strategies in conjunction with our 3rd party vendor.
- Oversee/lead the interpretation and implementation of government regulations and AstraZeneca's internal standards regarding occupational medical programs as supported by 3rd party vendors.
- Collaborate with AstraZeneca Safety personnel and 3rd party vendors as necessary to manage occupa! tional injury and illness cases, and in the provision of occupational m! edical surveillance programs.
- Budget development and management of the operation of all onsite clinics. Health and Wellness Program(s) Integration:
- Oversee/lead the development and implementation of health promotion programs across the U.S.
- Manage and integrate all vendors across onsite clinics, fitness centers, wellness and healthcare/benefits (as appropriate).
- Program analysis and strategic alignment with corporate health care, global health and wellbeing, and benefits program goals.
- Prepare, administer and negotiate budgets for the management of wellness and health promotion activities.Integrate with ongoing health and benefits offerings to improve on employee health risks and decrease AZ's medical care cost trend.
- Seek to obtain efficiencies from the provision of similar programs, initiatives, and events across the U.S.
- Establish key stakeholder groups to obtain feedback on current programs and suggestions f! or future programming.
- Periodically evaluate the wellness, medical and healthcare programs and offerings and suggest improvements.
- Collaborate with Corporate Communications to improve employee awareness of health and wellness programs and offerings. In scope Programs for Integration:

- 4-year college degree from an ac! credited institution
- At least 7 years experience in the develo! pment and implementation of corporate Health/Wellness programs
- At least 7 years management experience and proven ability to deliver cost savings and successful results through healthcare strategies and wellness programs
- Deep knowledge of U.S. disability and benefits plans, policies, processes and procedures
- Proven ability to manage the integration of health, benefits and wellness providers to deliver desired ROI
- Proficient in measuring, trending, interpreting and reporting data and presenting to senior leadership
- Ability to translate strategy into tactical implementation
- Strong analytical, math and critical thinking skills with a detail orientation
- Sufficient budget management experience to interact with Finance regularly
- Sufficient commercial acumen and knowledge of the healthcare marketplace in the U.S. to engage, influence and negotiate with major stakeholders and internal clients
- At least 5! years experience in the management of 3rd party providers to procurement and policy standards
- Project management skills and experience
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Desirable
- 4-year degree in organizational management/effectiveness, healthcare management, human resources or benefits
- Post graduate qualification in subject area
- Experience working with an outsourced disability and leave management 3rd party provider
- Experience working effectively in a cross-functional team
- Established networks within regional and local health and wellness HR communities
- Ability to understand drivers of improved business performance in relation to healthcare strategy
