Extending the world-class care of the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital, Nemours duPont Pediatrics provides expert care for even more children across the Delaware Valley through community-based physician services and collaborative partnerships with health and hospital systems.
To keep pace with the changing health care environment and build a healthier future for our children, Nemours has embarked on a multi-phase expansion to create a children†s hospital like no other in ! the region. Upon completion in June 2014, the hospital will in! clude private patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a new expanded Emergency Department.
The urgent care center has a census of over 15,000 patients each year and is open from 10 am to midnight with plans to extend coverage. Physicians work alongside a nurse and emergency technician to care for children age 0 to 18 with selected medical complaints or injuries consistent with those cared for in most primary care offices. We are currently adding physician assistants to the staffing model to also increase coverage. This state-of-the-art urgent care center is immediately adjacent to the main Emergency Department with 6 fully equipped examination rooms. Our urgent care physicians have access to all hospital laboratory and medical imaging facilities, as well as subspecialty consultants, and work cooperatively with the pediatric emergency medicine physicians in the main Emergency Department. Additionally, our urgent care physicians provide attending cover! age to a 6-bed short stay observation unit within the ER for anticipated minor medical illnesses requiring less than a 24-hour stay. Academic appointments are available through Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.
Applicants should be board-certified or eligible in General Pediatrics.
