! General Description:
Christiana Care Health System is seeking a part time Mental Health Associate for the Psychiatric Nursing Departments. You must be available to work all shifts. The MHA will interview, evaluate, manage and assist with appropriate disposition of acutely ill psychiatric patients. Must have knowledge of psychiatric principles, treatments, diagnosis and terminology.
Proficiency in de-escalation, therapeutic communication and the ability to physically manage agitated or out of control patients.
Must be able to evaluate and manage psychotic patients.
Requirements: B. S. Psychology, Sociology, Education or related discipline required and one year experience in nursing educational groups. Or Associates in Mental Health Services or related principle required with 3 years experience in nursing educational groups.
