Purpose
Oversee all activities related to the construction and maintenance activities of the assigned job, with focus on the Company's roadway restoration process; to ensure that all activities are performed in accordance with Company policies as well as both State and Federal Codes and Regulations. Perform various leak surveys throughout the gas distribution system and ensure any third-party construction is not in conflict with the Company's facilities. Responsible for providing oversight and review of crews engaged in the full range of general construction and maintenance activities on transmission and distribution systems and facilities as applicable. Performs such work in accordance with Company, regulatory and safety procedures.
Accountabilities
Restoration and Construction
- Review, make recommendations and/or oversee the road restoration process by spot checking the compaction of any type or roadway excavation and all types of pavement processes.
- Complete pavement audits per DTE 98-22. Create work orders for audits in SAP.
- Responsible for overview of contract crew ensuring completion of assigned duties. Plans, reviews and participates in all activities associated with construction and maintenance restoration work assignments.
- Determines and organizes crew and equipment requirements. Secures necessary materials and tools.
Operations
- Completes scheduling and execution of appointments for customer transfers to the new replacement installations related to service replacements.
- Creates C&M Work Orders as needed to repair or replace galnic systems as well as valve box maintenance.
- May oversee, coordinate and inspect work of contractor crews to ensure compliance with Federal state and local codes and regulations and Company standards.
- Reconcile completed work with third party invoicing and for accuracy, completeness and scope of the repair.
- Interprets main and service records from various maps, records and prints. Completes the service meter set layout and location for replacement services.
Compliance
- Completes and maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.
- Identifies, addresses, and reports safety and encroachment issues to their resolution and completion.
- Is Responsible for the safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment. Conduct quarterly bridge inspections.
- Mark out distribution systems facilities as requested through the Dig Safe Call System.

Education and Experience
- High School Graduate / GED
- Minimum 5+ years of related work experience
