Lactation Consultant

Description: Nanticoke Memorial Hospital is currently interviewing Lactation Consultant right now, this position will be placed in Delaware. The Laction Consultant works as a team memeber under the supervision of the Director, intergrating knowledge and evidence when providing care for breastfeeding familkies. While functioning with! in the guidelines of the Delaware State Nurse Practice Act, the nurse will demonstrate knowledge in the current concepts of his/her field, performing at a level of competence that allows independent thought abd action. Applies critical thinking in patient care management, assuring appropriate care bcased on patient needs, using age specific assessment, communications, and knowlegde of of physical and mental capabilities.
Education - Graduate of a two, three or four year Registered Nurse Program. Certified Lactation Consultant; Lactation Consultant Internist eleigible to sit for exam witj completed certification within one (1) year.
Experience - Expereince in acute care obstetrics required. Other expereince and education may be considered.
Qualifications - 1. Licensed RN, licenced to practice in Delaware.
2. Evidence of : a) Effective communications, b) Self motivation, c) Problem solving skills, d) Accountability, e) Felxibility
3. In certain clin! ical areas, specifc education and/or expereince will be requir! ed.
